SOUTH AUSTRALIA'S PREMIER SOLAR & ELECTRICAL SERVICE PROVIDER
SA Government Legislation
Under SA Government Legislation your New or Upgraded Solar System requires a permanent un-interrupted Wi-Fi Internet Connection for your Inverter!
New legislation brought in by the South Australian Government on the 28th September 2020 through the Department for Energy and Mining, requires that all new Solar Systems or Inverter upgrades require the homeowner to provide a permanent and uninterrupted internet connection via Wi-Fi to their Solar System. This is to ensure that State Energy Regulators (through SA Power Networks) can remotely disconnect and reconnect systems to help manage risks to the electricity grid during times of emergency.
What does this mean for you the Solar System Owner?
If you change your ISP (Internet Service Provider) / Wi-Fi Settings or Password or lose your internet connection for other reasons, by law you must make sure your Solar System’s Wi-Fi internet connection is reinstated as soon as possible after any disconnection event.
After initial installation, if you require Go4solar and Electrical to attend and reconnect your Solar Systems Wi-Fi to the internet for any reason not associated with a system fault, there will be a call-out fee.
It is the homeowner’s responsibility to make sure that a continuous and un-interrupted Wi-Fi Internet connection for their Solar System is maintained.
